Charlotte Hilker
I am a speech-language pathologist, researcher, and educator. My goal is to improve the field of speech-language pathology by allowing more people to access high quality health care. I prioritize working with organizations at a grassroots level to help fulfill their immediate needs and allow them to self-sustain with these improvements after our collaboration. My biggest focus right now is increasing access to speech therapy services for children in the Balkans, but I do not plan to stop there. I seek interdisciplinary environments where I can learn from leaders across fields and improve my own leadership and organization skills.
Outside of work, I love learning about how history affects the world we live in today. I enjoy experiencing history through travel, whether it be to Istanbul, Turkey, Kalona, Iowa, or anywhere in between. I enjoy reading non-fiction and raving about books like Broken Heartland by Osha Gray Davidson that helped me better understand the place where I live and the people I interact with.
I enjoy linguistics, learning about new languages, doing crafts, taking long walks, and meeting new people everywhere I go.
